simple words to live by

what i love most about yoga philosophy is its simplicity. here is one of my all time favorite quotes from the upanishads..

watch your thoughts; they become words.
watch your words; they become actions.
watch your actions; they become habits.
watch your habits; they become character.
watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

namaste.

let go

for the past six weeks i have had the privilege of teaching yoga to a group of students at a local studio. tonight, as the last class came to an end, i felt a gripping in my gut.. a sense of holding on, a reluctancy to let go of an experience that has brought so much fulfillment to my heart. practicing yoga has always been a way for me to plug into all of life's wonderment. after 10 years on my mat, the opportunity to teach yoga presented itself as a natural extension of my practice. sharing yoga in this capacity has allowed me to connect with others in the most authentic way. through breath, through intention, and through mindful devotion. as i drove away from the studio i asked my body and mind to release it's grip. slowly, my belly softened and my core swelled with gratitude. and it became clear that, in letting go, i created space for something much more profound.
